Winter / Christmas cards

Dear Parents and Carers

I know it’s only September but this weekend is your child/children’s chance to…

Design their OWN Christmas / Winter card!

In all the book bags this weekend is a Christmas card drawing template – the design is drawn on the blank side of the card and the child’s details filled out on the reverse (the younger children may need help with this as their name needs to be legible and spelt correctly!).

Once they have handed back their drawing (by Monday 28 Sept) the template will get sent to the printer.

The printer will scan the drawing and create a personalised order form (showing your child’s design on the form) which you will receive.

You then have the opportunity to buy packs of cards (approx £5 for a pack of 12 cards) to send to family and friends with your child’s individual design printed on the front and their name on the back.

We are aiming to have the cards printed and ready to hand out by 22 November.

We hope you have fun with this over the weekend and thank you in advance for supporting the Edmund Waller PTA.

I’m sure the results will be amazing!

Best regards

Edmund Waller PTA

PS     Only draw on the template supplied by the printer; drawings on other card/paper won’t be accepted.  And please read the Tips & Tricks section of the template before starting!

Nursery – Year 6 Autumn Booklist

The aim of these lists is to flag up some quality books that you may not be familiar with.  They are not reading lists that children are expected to read through in isolation; they are to support your ongoing relationship with your child and books.  You may recognise some old favourites and discover some new ones.  Enjoy sharing them together and remember your local libraries!

The book lists for each  year group have been published here, along with additional suggestions for Key Stage 2 readers.

Reading Newsletter – Autumn 2015

At Edmund Waller, we are passionate about the children developing a lifelong love of reading.  Book Talk has quickly become a popular feature on the weekly newsletter, with children clamouring to share the brilliant books they have discovered with the Edmund Waller community.  In fact, there is so much to share and celebrate that we have decided to publish this biannual reading newsletter.  At the start of this new school year, we are looking forward to supporting your child in developing their reading skills, confidence and enjoyment.
