On our third educational visit to Besson Street Gardens, we visited the bees in their hive. Some of us bee-came bee researchers as we observed the insects’ bee-haviour, and some bee-came real life bee-keepers in protective suits inside the hive.
We learnt that bees produce honey as well as beeswax. We got crafty making beeswax candles as gifts for our families at home.
We also made dazzling dragonflies which you will find in our book corner, as well as flowers for the insects to pollinate. When we got back to school, we made a big beehive for our handmade bees to live and work in. Next, we wrote informative posters to teach our visitors all about bees.
