2G’s Educational visit to New Cross fire station

This afternoon, 2G had the pleasure of walking to New Cross fire station to learn more about fire safety in relation to our topic – The Great Fire of London.

We had a tour around the station, explored the fire engine and even got to shoot water out of a hose! It was a great day, check out a few of our snapshots from the afternoon below.

Rainbow Theatre visit – The Great Fire of London

Children in Year 2 were treated to a fantastic performance of ‘The Great Fire Of London’ this afternoon!  The Rainbow Theatre visited with three actors who performed the events that took place in 1665 and 1666.  First, they showed us the events of the Plague.  Then, they performed the Great Fire of London.  The actors brought to life the history that the children will be learning about this term.

The performance was interactive and the children were brought into the show to act with the performers.  The children were brilliant!  They all followed the actors’ instructions and every child had a job to do in putting on the performance.  The whole thing was very interesting and memorable and all children were engaged throughout.  What an excellent introduction to this term’s topic!
