In 2W, we have been learning about time. As part of our learning about analogue clocks, we used our bodies to build human clocks. Can you look at the photographs and work out what times we are showing? Our next steps will be to learn to tell the time to o’clock, half past and quarter to and quarter past.
This morning, Year 2 were lucky enough to be visited by the Rainbow Theatre Group, who came to perform their show about the Great Fire of London. The children were all so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, they were asked to join in and become actors in the show. Every child was able to demonstrate and extend their knowledge of the dates and events linked to the Great Fire; from where and when it started to how and when it was extinguished. The staff were extremely proud of how fully the children took part and how beautifully they behaved too
! Have a look at the photos so that you can see what we did!
Over the last 2 weeks 1W have been rearing chicks as part of our ‘Eggs – let’s get cracking’ topic. We’ve been observing the chicks from the time they hatched and have been learning how to look after them. The children really enjoyed holding the chicks and describing how they felt.
The chicks have been picked up now and will live out the rest of their lives on a farm in Surrey. You never know, the next time you tuck into a scrambled egg at breakfast it could have come from one of our cute little chickens.
Our Christmas performance will be taking place at St Catherine’s Church, Telegraph Hill, on Thursday 10th December. As you will know, this is always a fantastic celebration of all our children’s hard work over the term and is always very popular.
For Reception – Year 3 classes the performance will begin at 10.30am.
For Year 4 – Year 6 classes the performance will begin at 1.50pm.
Please arrive in good time to ensure you get a seat.
