As part of our topic – A Bird’s Eye View – we have been looking at the life of, Bessie Coleman, a famous aviator. We shared this book about her life:
In pairs, the children researched the life of this remarkable woman.
Please ask your child to tell you something they found out about ‘Queen Bess’ and her fascinating life…

This term me and my class are working on 3D shapes . We are working with Venn Diagram and plastic shapes. I found it hard .There was nothing in the middle of the circle because no shape had an even number of edges AND an odd number if vertices. I did not do it right because I did not understand.
In year 3 in maths we have been learning about 3D shapes.Like there properties, last week we made shapes out of plasticine.I made a cube, cuboid, sphere, cylinder, square based pyramid and a cone.we had to make shapes out of polydron’s after we had to make are own shapes.I must admit it was really fun and cool actually. I have to thank Mr Absolom he told us to do it I have some questions to arks. can you try to guess what I split my digram into and what is a polygon.
Firstly I am going to talk about are subject.in maths We are learning about 3D shapes.First we made shapes out of plasticine they were…cubes, cuboids, spheres, cones and pyramids it was harder than you think!
In class we were doing 3d shapes.
We made 3d shapes with polydron Mr Absolom told us what net (which is a 3D shape split apart.
Here I am using the Polydron! I made a cuboid
This term me and my class have been learning about 3d shapes. We worked with Polydron to make 3D shapes. I found it quite hard to get it to stick the polydron together to make 3d shapes. How many sides on a cube?
In math’s we have been learning about 3D shapes! On Monday 14/12/15 we made a Venn diagram.Me & Zion (my partner) put the little plastic shape’s into the Venn diagram.Did you Know a triangle based pyramid is actually called a Tetrahedron .Me & my class mate’s work really hard on math’s and when I say class mate’s I don`t just mean the people I like ,I mean EVERYONE!!!!!!!!
In maths year3 have been learning about 3D shapes. Today we made a Venn diagram using 3D shapes.
- What is a shape with 6 square faces 12 vertices and 12 edges?
- Does a square based pyramid have all its faces the same?
- How many Edges does a Oblong have?
- What is your favourite shape?
Did you know?
Every single shape has a name even shapes that have more than 10 edges faces and vertices.
